How does Hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis, which is a totally natural state of trance that we all experience every day without realising it. Through guided relaxation, your conscious mind is relaxed and your subconscious mind is brought to the fore front. The subconscious mind is where we hold all our core beliefs, memories and automatic responses. During hypnosis it is possible to release those negative thought patterns and behaviours and find solutions.

Will I lose control and do something I don’t want to do?
Absolutely not. You are in control throughout and I cannot make you do anything you would not normally do. If you wished to talk or move or even get up and leave the room you could. If you decided for any reason you’ve had enough of the session, you can simply open your eyes, but people really enjoy the deep relaxation.

How do I know if I'm in hypnosis?
It varies from person to person. Some people feel their limbs and eyelids feeling heavy, some feel tingling in their hands and feet, some may experience body dysmorphia or time distortion. However, some may not feel anything at all. Whatever you feel during hypnosis, is the right feeling for you.

Can I be hypnotised?
Anyone that wants to be hypnotised can be. In the same way, if you do not want to be hypnotised you will not be. In fact, you do this naturally on a day to day basis, examples of this include day dreaming and reading, both are a light state of hypnosis.

How many sessions do I need?
The number of sessions required will vary depending upon the client and the nature of the issue, Hypnotherapy is unique from any other therapy because it works directly with the subconscious mind, As a result, it is a short-term treatment in comparison to other types of therapies, because the conscious mind is bypassed.
